Tune up

The word tune up has evolved over the years and is largely misused due to the variation of opinions of what a tune consist of.

Tune up used to be a service that all cars needed at least once a year. Typically it consisted of replacement of spark plugs, points, air and fuel filter, and oil change.

The cars of today are more complex and have less need of the traditional tune up. While all cars still use spark plugs and filters, many cars of today don’t need that “tune up” but only every few years. Some cars have spark plugs that last up to 100,000 miles. Many other cars are not equipped with a external fuel filter.

So how can you know what you need? At Omega we educate our customers so they can know what their car needs and when. Don’t ask for a “tune up” service because you think you need one, better yet have the Omega technicians inspect your car and give you the right recommendations that pertain to your car.
